Tyres have a recommended lifespan of roughly 40,000 to 60,000 km, or 5-6 years, from their date of manufacture. A tyre’s actual lifespan will depend on the distance you cover, the type of vehicle you drive (tyres on heavier vehicles wear faster), and the type of tyre it is.
To check your tyre’s manufacture date, refer to the DOT code stamped on your tyre’s sidewall. The last four digits indicate the week and year the tyre of manufacture (e.g. 2821 example, means the 28th week of 2021).
